UGC NET June 2024 Exam Cancelled Due to Compromised Integrity; CBI Investigation Ordered

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) released a probe into the UGC NET 2024 June exam on 20 June 2024 following the Ministry of Education, Government of India’s decision to cancel the exam on Wednesday.

NTA conducted the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) 2024 June session examination on 18 June 2024 and after the conduct of the exam, a case was registered that the unknown persons for compromising the integrity of the UGC NET exam.

Minister of Education Of India, Dharmendra Pradhan has released a press briefing in which he stated that “A fresh examination shall be conducted, for which information shall be shared separately. This case is being handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation for detailed investigation in the matter”.

“MoE has also stated that this is a case of question leak. It was informed to us that the UGC-NET question paper on the Darknet matches the original question paper of UGC-NET, so we decided to cancel the examination.”

As per the official notice for the UGC NET 2024 June session exam a total of 11,21,225 candidates registered out of which the exam was taken by 9,08,580 candidates in two shifts.

Over 9 lakh candidates have been impacted by the cancellation of the UGC NET exam and with that criticism and questions on the education system from the youth and the public are also raised.

Till now no official dates have been announced for the UGC NET June 2024 re-exam. Candidates are advised to check the official website and official Twitter handles of the authorities to get the latest and correct updates on the same.
