JEE Aspirant Dies By Suicide In Hyderabad: A 17-year-old JEE aspirant was found hanging at a private residential IIT coaching institute in Hyderabad on Saturday, 10 February 2024.

The boy was said to be a native of Chittoor district in Andhra Pradesh was preparing for the JEE Main 2024 session 1 examination. He has appeared for the JEE Main 2024 session 1 examination which the NTA conducted from 24 January 2024 to 1 February 2024.

On 6 February 2024, the boy checked the answer key for the JEE Main 2024 session 1 examination which was released by the authority and found that he might not have scored well in the examination and committed suicide by hanging himself on a ceiling fan of the coaching institute.
The police were immediately informed about the case and the boy was taken to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him dead.
Police Statement For JEE Aspirant Committed Suicide In Hyderabad
The police officers of the Madhapur police station took the suicide case under them and stated that “the body of the deceased boy was found hanging in one of the hostel rooms of the private coaching centre by the other students”.
The students immediately informed the principal/head of the coaching institute about the mishappening, and the police were informed about the case.
Later, the police investigated the deceased’s friends and they told police that he was going through anxiety and depression due to his JEE Main 2024 scores.
“The deceased has scored poor marks in the JEE Main 2024 examination and was very upset and it seems to be a reason for him to take an extreme step for committing suicide” stated the police.
Whereas, the investigation is still ongoing and no letter or suicide note was found in the boy’s room. The body has been sent to the postmortem.
