Ministry of Ayush  Launched Programme to Promote Scientific Research Through Ayurvedic Colleges; Know It’s Main Objective

Ministry of Ayush New Programme: Under the guidance of the Ministry of Ayush, the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) and Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS) created the “SMART” programme, which aims to mainstream ayurvedic research in programmes for teaching professionals.

The methodology uses ayurvedic colleges and hospitals to advance scientific research in healthcare-related fields.

The NCISM chairman, Vaidya Jayant Deopujari, and the director general of CCRAS, Rabinarayan Acharya introduced the programme in the presence of the NCISM president, the board of ayurveda, BS Prasad, and other top authorities.

Eligible colleges may submit an application for the SMART programme up until January 10, 2023. The ministry notified the eligibility to all recognized academic institutions and hospitals via NCISM.

Main Objective of Ministry of Ayush SMART Programme

The SMART programme’s main objective is to find, support, and promote creative research proposals in the fields of healthcare research, including, obesity, diabetes mellitus, rheumatoid arthritis, chronic bronchitis, dyslipidemia, psoriasis, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), osteoarthritis, iron deficiency anaemia, chronic bronchitis, dyslipidemia, and dyslipidemia.

NCISM Chairman Vaidya Jayant Deopujari said this about the initiative: “I am certain that this programme has the potential to revolutionise clinical research in Ayurveda.

The vast community of Ayurveda instructors’ research potential has been found to be mostly underutilised. I commend CCRAS for this initiative and assure full support on behalf of NCISM.

As a result, the “SMART” programme will have a profound long-term renewing impact on research in the field of ayurveda.”

BS Prasad, head of the board of ayurveda at NCISM, commented on the SMART initiative, saying: “The extensive network of Ayurveda colleges and hospitals around the nation is a benefit for the country in terms of its healthcare needs.

This network has not only provided healthcare services during difficult times, but it has also made substantial contributions to national healthcare research. The “SMART” programme will undoubtedly inspire professors to take on projects in certain fields of medical study and build a sizable database.
