According to the article, a pilot program of open-book exams in a few chosen schools has been proposed by CBSE. English, mathematics, and science for classes 9 and 10, and english, mathematics, and biology for classes 11 and 12.

Are Students Allowed To Carry Notes In An Open Book Exam?

In the past, the student group and academic community received negative comments when the CBSE experimented with an Open Text Based Assessment (OTBA) for the exams of classes 9 and 11 for three years, from 2014–15 to 2016–17.

As per CBSE’s open text-based assessment (OTBA), students will be given text material four months in advance and allowed to bring case studies during the exam. Students are allowed to use their notes or textbooks while answering questions.
