The condition is that every student must study at least one native Indian language in their school secondary education.

After proposing regional languages to the secondary classes syllabus, their second proposal is the requirement to pass five subjects to graduate high school which may increase to ten subjects.

What is the “National Credit Framework”?

The National Credit Framework is a single meta-framework that aims to combine the credits earned through school education, higher education, and vocational & skill education.

According to the Indian Express news authority, by introducing the National Credit Framework in secondary education the CBSE is deciding to bridge the gap between the vocational and general subjects.

Notional learning refers to the designated time required for an average student to achieve specific outcomes and an academic year consists of 1200 notional learning hours which is equal to 40 credits, as per CBSE.

Through the National Credit Framework, the credits earned by students will be stored digitally in the Academic Bank of Credits and can be accessed via a Digilocker account.

Crucially, these credits earned by the students will be independent and different from the marks obtained by them in the examinations.
