CLAT 2024 Freeze, Float, Exit Options Explanation

Consider the pointers mentioned below to know complete details about the freeze, float, and exit options in CLAT 2024 counselling round:

Freeze Option

The seat-freeze option in the CLAT 2024 counselling round means if a candidate is satisfied with the seat allotted and accepts the seat they can choose the freeze seat allocation option. The seat-freeze option will allow applicants to not participate in any further rounds of the CLAT 2024 counselling process.

To freeze the seat allotment in the first, second, or third round of CLAT 2024 counselling aspirants must pay the confirmation fee within the stipulated time set by the authority. For seat freezing in the fourth and fifth rounds, the University fee is to be paid by 14 May 2024.

Float Option

If a candidate does not get the first preference seat in the NLU and chooses to leave the seat for the possibility of a higher preference NLU they can select the float option.

The person choosing the float option can hold the seat and once they have been allotted a seat as per their preference in further rounds can move to the new seat. The seat float option will not be used to migrate to a lower preference seat in NLU.

To exercise the float option, the applicant will be required to pay a confirmation fee in the first, second, and third rounds, and in the fourth round, the university fee must be paid within the stipulated time. Flotation of seats can not be done in the fifth round of CLAT 2024 counselling.

Exit Option

At any time after registering for CLAT 2024 counselling, if an applicant doesn’t wish to further continue in the counselling process, he/she can choose to exit the admission counselling process.

If anyone has chosen the freeze or float option before the exit option, the seat allotted to them will be reallocated and the confirmation fee will be forfeited. No seat will be allotted after choosing the exit option.
