The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main is one of the most prestigious entrance exams for engineering aspirants in India. With the JEE Main 2024 just around the corner, understanding the important documents required for the JEE examination and the application process is crucial. On 14 September, NTA announced the NTA Exam calendar 2024 for JEE Main 2024 and several other important exams. As per the NTA schedule, JEE Main 2024 Session 1 will be conducted between 24 January and 1 February 2024. The session 2 exam will be held between 1 April & 15 April 2024.

As per the latest reports JEE Main 2024 Application will be released by December 2023. The notification containing the details of the application form is likely to be released by November 2023.

For appearing in the JEE Main 2024, candidates must make sure to prepare the list of documents well in advance.

List of Important Documents Required for JEE Main 2024

To successfully apply for JEE Main 2024, you’ll need to provide specific documents. Here’s a list of the essential documents required for JEE Main 2024 registration:

Valid Email and Mobile Number: You need a working email and phone number so that NTA can send you important messages.

Scanned Photograph and Signature: High-quality scanned copies of your recent passport-sized photograph and signature are necessary for online application.

ID Proof: Aadhar card or any other Government photo ID proof is usually used for identity verification during the registration process.

Class 10th Mark Sheet: This document serves as proof of your date of birth.

Class 12th Mark Sheet: You will need your Class 12th mark sheet to provide academic details.

Category Certificate (if applicable): If you belong to any reserved category (SC/ST/OBC-NCL), you should have a valid category certificate.

PwD Certificate (if applicable): Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates need to provide a PwD certificate.

Credit/Debit Card or Net Banking Details: For fee payment candidates need to have their card/net banking or UPI details for fee payment.

What are the Dimensions for Scanned Images?

For the JEE Main 2024 registration, candidates are required to upload their photograph and signature. The specifications for the images are:

Photograph:

• Passport size with a clear face.
• Preferably with a white background.
• Size should generally be between 10 KB and 200 KB.
• The image size should be 3.5 cm X 4.5 cm.
• The image format should be JPG/JPEG

Signature:

• Signature should be done on a white paper with a black ink pen.
• Size typically ranges between 4 KB and 30 KB.
• The image size should be 3.5 cm (Width) X 1.5 cm (Height)
• The image format should be JPG/JPEG.
• The signature style should be running hand.

The JEE Main 2024 registration is likely to commence from the 1st week of December 2023. Candidates can register online from jeemain.nta.nic.in. For registration in JEE Main candidates should have passed/appearing class 12th or equivalent in 2022, 2023, and 2024 with Physics, Chemistry, and mathematics subjects. 

There is no minimum percentage criteria for appearing in the JEE Main exam, however, for admission to IITs, NIT’s, IIIT’s & GFTI’s candidates must score at least 75% in 12th board exams (65% for SC/ST candidates).
