UPSC has started CDS 2024 exam (I) registration from 20 December 2023. The last date for filling the application form is 9 January 2024. While filling out the CDS 2024 registration form, aspirants must make sure that they keep certain things in mind to avoid such mishaps.

Read the Eligibility Criteria Carefully
- Applicants must read the eligibility criteria set by UPSC for the CDS examination carefully before applying. The eligibility criteria include citizenship, age, educational qualification, attempt number, and other medical and physical requirements as prescribed by the UPSC.
Double Check Personal Details
- While filling out the application form, candidates should ensure that all the personal information and communication details such as mobile number and email ID mentioned in the application form are correct.
- For those who choose to pay by cash mode, print the generated system pay-in slip during Part II registration and deposit it at the SBI branch counter only on working days.
Upload Correct Scanned Documents
Candidates must have valid identification documents listed by UPSC and upload a scanned copy of it. Make sure to upload the scanned documents in correct specifications.
Select Exam Centres Carefully
When it comes to choosing the exam centre make select the correct exam centres. Candidates will not be allowed to make changes in the examination cities thereafter.
Don’t Fill Multiple Application Form
Applicants must ensure that they avoid submitting more than one application forms, if they do so make sure other applications are withdrawn and the one that is correctly filled out is processed and submitted.
CDS 2024 Application Form Filling Instructions
Candidates can go through the instructions set by UPSC for the applicants to fill out the CDS 2024 registration form. Go through these instructions before filling out your application form:
- Candidates are required to complete the online application form containing two stages i.e. Part I and Part II as per the instructions available on the UPSC website through the drop-down menu.
- To complete the registration process, applicants have to pay a 200/- fee except for the exempted category candidates.
- The scanned photograph of the documents must be between 20 KB to 300 KB, which means photographs less than 20 KB and more than 300 KB in size will be rejected by the website.
- Candidates must keep all the required documents ready prior to filling out the registration form.
- Candidates should ensure they use a valid, up-to-date email ID. The Commission may communicate via email during selection.
- The Commission has also implemented a clause that allows applicants who do not wish to take part in the examination to withdraw their application.
The CDS 2024 exam will be conducted on 21 April 2024 along with the NDA and NA examination.
