Karnataka bandh on Friday has been announced in Karnataka because of the protest against the release of 5000 cusecs of Cauvery river water to Tamil Nadu.

The state Government of Karnataka was ordered by the Cauvery Water Management Authority (CWMA) to release 5000 cusecs of water to Tamil Nadu.

Earlier, the Bengaluru band on 26 September 2023 was announced by the officials, and some groups of farmers scheduled a protest march on 26 September in Bengaluru. This affected the schools and colleges as well due to which they remained closed.
