Jammu Schools Winter Breaks 2024 Extended: The Directorate of School Education, Government of Jammu & Kashmir on its official website @schedujammu.nic.in has announced that the winter vacations in all the schools of Jammu are extended due to extreme cold weather.

The authority has released a notice regarding this on 21 January 2024 which states that all the schools up to class 12th functioning in the summer zones of Jammu shall observe vacations from 22 January 2024.

The notice also stated that the Jammu winter vacations would last till 27 January 2024, however, in addition to this, the authority also stated that the students who are practicing for Republic Day should continue to come to the schools for their practices.

In addition, the Directorate of School Education, Govt, of Jammu also stated that all the heads of institutions are informed that all the arrangements for the Republic Day function are in place including the enthusiastic participation of students.

This decision creates a balance between the need for an extended break due to extreme weather and the importance of continuing preparations for major events like Republic Day. 

The decision also highlights the commitment to both student safety during bad weather conditions and the ongoing celebration of national occasions.

Previously, the winter vacations in Jammu & Kashmir schools for session 2024 were extended till 19 January 2024 due to cold weather and now the vacations are extended till 27 January 2024.
