Official Statement

The letter asked the recipient to “please take steps to relax the eligibility requirements of JEE Predominant 2023 to allow college students who passed their class 12 board examination in 2020 to appear for the examination.”

The MP also demanded that those who wish to participate in the JEE Superior give it another shot.

The letter written by the Member of Parliament from Andhra Pradesh’s Amalapuram is officially available on Twitter.

In order to be eligible for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Superior, a candidate must have completed Class 12 no more than a few academic years prior to the year in which they intend to appear for the engineering entrance examination.

This eligibility has been extended by a year for JEE Mains. Candidates must not have graduated from high school more than two academic years prior to the year they are taking the exam.

The difficulty encountered during the COVID-19 pandemic has prompted engineering hopefuls from throughout the country to call for a second go in the entrance exam.

Students contend that because physical education classes were suspended during the epidemic, their academic year was lost and that as a one-time remedy, they should be allowed to take a break within the bounds of eligibility.

Meanwhile, session 1 of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Predominant 2023 is set to take place between January 24 and 31. The internet registration for the doorway examination is now underway and will end on January 12.
