Qualification Criteria
The first and most crucial criterion to appear for the JEE Advanced is clearing the JEE Main examination. Only the top candidates from JEE Main are eligible to take the JEE Advanced.
Additionally, candidates must secure a minimum aggregate score in their 10+2 or equivalent board examination.
- JEE Main 2024: The JEE Main 2024 examination will be conducted between 24 January 2024 to 1 February 2024, and to be eligible for the JEE Advanced 2024 exam candidates must secure a top rank in the JEE Main 2024 exam.
- Minimum Aggregate Marks: Apart from top rank in JEE Main, the applicants must have obtained a minimum aggregate score in their 10+2 final exam. The aggregate minimum marks may vary each year.
Age Limit
To apply for JEE Advanced you should born on or after 1st October 1999 (for general candidates) and 1st October 1994 (for SC/ST & PwD candidates).
Number Of Attempts
An aspirant can attempt the JEE Advanced exam for two consecutive years. Note that appearing in JEE Main also counts as one attempt regardless of whether you qualify for JEE Advanced.
Appearance In Exam
The candidate must have appeared in their 12 or equivalent exam for the first time in 2023 or 2024. This implies that if candidates have appeared in JEE Advanced before they are no more eligible to attempt JEE Advanced 2024.
Subjects In 10+2
It is compulsory for aspirants to have Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as their major subjects in their 10+2. If an applicant fails to meet this criteria they will automatically be ineligible to apply for the JEE Advanced 2024.
