As per the information bulletin, candidates must secure 75% in Class 12th in order to participate in the JEE Main 2023. Students have requested relaxation for this criterion as well.

The JEE Main 2023 Exam Dates for Session 1 & Session 2 are announced. Accordingly, the exams will be held from 24th to 31st January, 2023 & from 6th to 12th April, 2023 for Session 1 & Session 2 respectively.

The petition added, “the 75% eligibility in the Class 12th Board Examination will affect many students who can score very high in the Mains Examination but may not have 75% marks in the board examination.”

The petitioner said that the Class 12th Practicals & Vivas will clash with the JEE Main 2023 Session 1. Even the CBSE HSC & 12th ICSE Exams will begin on 1st February which can affect the Class 12 students.

The clash between JEE Main 2023 & Pre-board exams will lead to less number of students appearing for January Session.

Chief Justice Gangpurwala & V Marne will be considering the petition. “The only difficulty is that the last date for registration is approaching. My lords may consider it on Monday, I will file tomorrow, said the petitioner.

However, the court denied it & said “You should have filed with the petition. Matter on 10th January.”

During the pandemic, NTA removed the 75% criteria as a one-time measure due to academic loss.
