A petition has been filed in the Bombay High Court requesting the postponement of January Exams as pre-board exams have been scheduled for next month. It was filed on 26th December, 2022 by activist Anubha Srivastava. Also, he demanded a relaxation of 75% of the Eligibility criteria in Class 12th.

The social media platforms are flooding with requests to postpone JEE Main 2023 & to remove the 75% criterion for droppers by the students. The “#postponeJEEMains” trended on Social Media among students.

Earlier, the NTA announced the JEE Main 2023 Examination Dates on 15th December, 2022. After the announcement, aspirants started demanding to postpone the January Exam.

The 75% eligibility in Class 12th to appear in JEE Main 2023 will hit lakhs of students who can crack the exam but may not have 75% marks in their Class 12th, the PIL said.

Last year, the NTA removed the 75% criterion due to the academic loss during the Covid 19 Pandemic. With the sudden change in eligibility, many students can be affected.

The Pre-board Exams & Viva Voce of CBSE, ICSE & other state boards will be held in January. Simultaneously, the JEE Main 2023 is also scheduled for January month.

Therefore, JEE Aspirants are complaining of injustice created due to the NTA’s decision to conduct the exam in January.

Meanwhile, the JEE Main 2023 Registrations are undergoing & continuing till 12th January, 2023. 

Recently, NTA issued a notice for Tamil Nadu candidates. As per the notice, students who have completed Class 10th in 2021 can apply for the JEE Main 2023.
