JEE Main 2024 Equal Score by 2 Aspirants: What is Tie Breaking Policy of NTA?

The JEE Main 2024 paper 2 results for B.Arch and B.Planning are scheduled to be out soon. Whereas, the NTA has already provided the candidates with the formulae of calculating the scores of the examination.

A lot of candidates are searching for what happens if aspirants score equal marks in the JEE Main 2024 session 1 exam and some of them are searching for the JEE Main 2024 session 1 tie-breaking policy, whether the authority will provide the facility or not.

Details about the JEE Main tie-breaking policy are provided by NTA in section 3.4 of the chapter 3 examination scheme of the JEE Main 2024 information bulletin.

The NTA follows 2 different rules (paper 1 and paper 2) for determining the ranks of the candidates scoring equal marks in the JEE Main 2024 session 1 examination.

JEE Main 2024 Session 1 Method Of Resolving Ties

The tie-breaking rule for the JEE Main 2 candidates obtaining equal JEE Main 2024 session 1 scores will be resolved by using the following measures:-

JEE Main 2024 Paper 1 B.E/B.Tech Tie Breaking Methods

• NTA score in Mathematics, followed by
• NTA score in Physics, followed by
• NTA score in Chemistry, followed by
• Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted
  incorrect answers and correct answers in all the subjects in the
  Test, followed by
• Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted
  incorrect answers and correct answers in Mathematics in the
  Test, followed by
• Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted
  incorrect answers and correct answers in Physics in the Test,
  followed by
• Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted
  incorrect answers and correct answers in Chemistry in the Test
  followed by
• Older in Age followed by
• Application Number in ascending order.

JEE Main 2024 Paper 2 B.Arch & B.Planning Tie Breaking Methods

• NTA score in mathematics, followed by
• NTA score in aptitude Test, followed by
• NTA score in drawing test/Planning questions, followed by
• Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted
  incorrect answers and correct answers in all the subjects in the
  Test, followed by
• Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted
  incorrect answers and correct answers in Mathematics (Part I)
  in the Test, followed by
• Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted
  incorrect answers and correct answers in Aptitude Test (Part II)
  in the Test followed by
• Older in Age followed by
• Application Number in ascending order.

The NTA released the result for the JEE Main 2024 session 1 paper 1 examination on 13 February 2024 along with the topper list.
