Why Is The Preamble To Constitution Added To Kerala School’s Curriculum?
When the authorities asked the government of Kerala about the need to make the preamble part of the Kerala school’s textbooks, they said that the main objective of including the preamble in the school’s curriculum is to create awareness about the significance of the constitution among youngsters.
The SCERT director added that “though it may be tough for the children to understand the concept of the Constitution in the lower classes, they will be able to understand its basics by the time they come to at least the fifth standard”.
The former finance minister Thomas Isaac also supported the state government’s decision to include the preamble to the Constitution in the school’s curriculum of Kerela, stating that this step of the state government would communalise education.
“The updated curriculum will be gender-sensitive and also includes lessons on Pocso rules, democratic and secular principles, and scientific temperament will be provided. That is our response to attempts to communalise education,” he wrote on the social networking platform ‘X’.
