Lakshadweep Schools 2024 Updates: The Education Department of Lakshadweep has released a notice stating to change Malayalam medium schools to CBSE English medium schools from session 2024-25.

The notice reads that all the Malayalam medium school departments will be transitioned to the CBSE English medium from grade 1 onwards.

All the Lakshadweep school authorities are ordered to admit students of the fresh 2024-25 batch under the CBSE English medium stream.

The official mentioned that this decision will students to adapt to competitive essential skills for their future academics and professional pursuits.

According to the guidelines, students enrolled in the CBSE English medium stream will have the opportunity to learn three languages – English, Hindi, and Malayalam.

This language policy will be implemented for students in classes 1 to 12 starting from the 2024-25 academic session.

This approach ensures that students can comprehensively learn three languages without the burden of learning more languages during their school studies, reads the official notice.

Meanwhile, existing Malayalam SCERT (State Council of Education Research and Training) medium classes will also be replaced with CBSE English medium from grades 2 to 8.

The Malayalam medium SCERT classes will be converted to CBSE English medium starting from grades 2 to 8. The conversion process for grades 9 and 10 will be carried out systematically over the next two years to ensure minimal disruption to the ongoing board examinations.

The officials stated, that all the principals are initiated to make necessary arrangements for the migration of Malayalam schools in Lakshadweep to CBSE English medium to be in action from the 2024-25 session.
