NMC opens portal to submit applications for establishment of new medical colleges – The NMC opens a portal to submit applications for the establishment of new medical colleges on 15th December, 2022. Those who are eligible & interested can submit the applications on the NMC’s official website.

As per the data shared by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW), the number of medical colleges in India has risen by 67% from 387 to 648 in the past eight years. Around 355 are government medical colleges & 293 are private colleges, out of these seats.

Meanwhile, the NTA has announced the 2023 exam calendar for the NEET UG and CUET Examination.

We have mentioned below the list of documents required for the establishment of new medical colleges.

Documents required for Submission

Check out the following documents required for the submissions process –

  1. Essentiality Certificate.
  2. Consent of Affiliation (COA) in specified format.
  3. Hospital Details.
  4. Prescribed fees along with GST.

However, the deadline to submit applications for the establishment of new medical colleges will be 23rd December, 2022.

Earlier, the last date for application submission for MBBS courses was 31st August, 202 while 20th July, 2022 for PG courses. Hence, the authority examines that many institutions missed the chance to register for the Academic Session 2023-24 due to a significant number of applications & less time duration.

As per the schedule, the NTA will hold the NEET UG 2023 Examination on 7th May, 2023. The CUET 2023 Examination is scheduled to be conducted from 21st May to 31st May, 2023 while the dates from 1st to 7th June 2023 have been reserved for later.
