This unfortunate incident took place on the morning of 12 Jan 2024 in the Anlagunja village of Mayurbhanj district, Odisha.

The deceased boy used to stay at a hostel near his school. His friends stated on Thursday evening, after having dinner, the boy went to sleep in his hostel room along with his roommates.

However, his body was found hanging from a wooden panel supporting a ceiling in the classroom on Friday.

Police Statement On Odisha Class 9 Student Death

After the boy’s body was found hanging in the classroom, the authorities informed the Bangiriposhi police and the police reached and investigated the incident.

Rojalin Bohara, the area in charge of the Bangiriposhi police stated that “the deceased was studying in class 9th in a government high school in Odisha”.

Further, he said that the boy’s body was sent for an autopsy on the same day of the incident and the case has been registered by the police.

Police also ordered the school and the hostel authorities to inform the deceased’s parents about the mishappening.
