PM YUVA Mentorship Scheme: The PM-YUVA mentorship programme for young authors 2.0 was announced in a letter from the University Grants Commission (UGC) to higher education institutions (HEIs) on January 3, 2023.

On January 15, 2023, the innovateindia.mygov.in/yuva national competition for potential YUVA 2.0 candidates will come to an end.

The competitors are required to submit a nonfiction book proposal of 10,000 words, which includes the following elements: a synopsis of 2,000–3,000 words, a chapter outline, sample chapters of 7,000–8,000 words, and a bibliography and references.

From January 16 to March 31, 2023, the entries submitted for the PM Yuva 2.0 programme will be assessed.

A scholarship worth Rs 50,000 per month for six months will be awarded to the 75 authors who were chosen through the competition.

In addition, the works written by chosen authors under the mentorship programme will be published by the National Book Trust (NBT).

Steps to Check UGC Letter Regarding: PM-YUVA Mentorship Scheme

Follow the steps provided below to check the UGC letter regarding: PM-YUVA Mentorship Scheme for Young Authors (YUVA) 2.0-

  • Go to the official website at https://www.ugc.ac.in
  • You will enter the homepage of the website.
  • Scroll down and visit the “Notice” section.
  • Select the “UGC letter” link.
  • The UGC Letter Regarding: PM-YUVA Mentorship Scheme will appear on the screen.
  • Check the letter and download it for further use.

In order to ensure the sharing of literature and culture and to support “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat,” the NBT will publish the books created under this programme and will also translate them into other Indian languages.

The Names of selected authors will be announced in the month of May 2023 and the Mentorship duration process will take place from June 1 – November 30, 2023. The Publication of the first set of books will commence on February 1, 2024.
