Schools in Jharkhand started “Siti Bajao” Initiative To Boost student’s Attendance

Jharkhand Seeti Bajao School Initiative: The school education and literacy department of Jharkhand, Ranchi has launched a one-hour social media campaign named Seeti Bajao School Bulao (SBSB) which is going to be conducted from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM every day.

Today Thursday, 11 January 2024 is the first day of the blow-whistle drive to increase the attendance of students in the schools and to raise awareness among parents, teachers, and students, the school management committee, and the members of Sarasvati Vahini and Mata Samiti.

This scheme was first adopted by a government school in Tangrain located approximately 45 km away from the Potka block of the east Singhbhum district as the ‘ Siti Bajao – Upastithi Badhao’ drive aligning with the government.

The scheme later got a lot of positive responses from the school education department and from the government of Jharkhand and was launched in all the government schools of the state by the government. 

The government of Jharkhand later stated that “we are targeting those students who have been absent for over a month. Later on, they also added that ‘ we have divided the students into groups and picked one group leader based on their answer to the questions asked to them’.

The students who are being appointed as the leaders of the scheme will mark a zero on the name of students who have been absent for one or two days, 2 zeroes on the names of the students who have been absent for over a month, and 3 zeroes against the students who have been absent for more than one month.

The school education department of Jharkhand says that our main goal is to bring back the last 2 categories of students.

The school authority also directed the members of the school management committee to post about the SBSB drive on their personal as well as official social media handles.
