The University Grants Commission (UGC) has granted permission to three private universities to begin offering online courses and Online Distance Learning (ODL) programmes in the forthcoming academic year.

According to an official announcement from the UGC, Amity University, Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies, and GLA University have all been given approval.

These three private universities have received recognition under the UGC (Open and Distance Learning Programmes and Online Programmes) Regulations, 2020, according to the official notice that has been released.
There will be a total of 5 courses offered by the Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies. Both Amity University and GLA University will offer a total of 6 and 2 courses, respectively.
ODL Courses at Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies
The list of ODL courses that Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies will offer are as follows:
- Bachelor of Computer Applications
- Bachelor of Business Administration
- Bachelor of Arts – Economics Hons
- Bachelor of Commerce
- Master of Commerce
ODL Courses at Amity University
The ODL courses that Amity University will offer are listed below:
- Bachelor of Social Work
- Bachelor of Commerce
- Bachelor of Arts – Journalism and Mass Communication
- Master of Arts – Public Policy and Governance
- Master of Social Work
- Master of Arts – English
ODL Courses at GLA University
- Bachelor of Commerce – Honors.
- Bachelor of Business Administration
These three universities will provide online programmes and courses from the 2022–2023 academic session through 2025–2026 academic year. The durations of recognition for these universities will last just till January 2026. Amity University’s period of recognition will come to an end in January 2027.
