UGC SWAYAM Courses 2023: The University Grants Commission (UGC) chairman, Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar, has announced the opening of registration for the Community Engagement and Social Responsibility course available on the SWAYAM Portal.

They have also started the Buddhist Studies courses on the Study Webs of Active–Learning for Young Aspiring Minds (SWAYAM) platform on 3 July 2023 and the last date for enrollment is 31st Aug 2023.

The UGC has opened registration for SWAYAM Courses on Buddhist Studies, namely History of Indian Buddhism, Buddhist Philosophy, Abhidhamma (Pali), Buddhist Tourism and Community Engagement and Social Responsibility courses.

These courses, each with a duration of 15 weeks, will be starting on August 1, 2023, and end on Nov 14, 2023.

To be eligible for enrollment, individuals are required to hold a graduation degree in any subject and have a working knowledge of English as the medium of instruction. An interest in Buddhist studies is also encouraged to make the most of these courses.

  3. Log in to your SWAYAM account.
  4. Browse the course catalogue and select the desired Buddhist Studies course.
  5. Check the course requirements, including eligibility criteria.
  6. Enrol in the course by clicking on the “Enroll Now” or “Join” button.
  7. Access the course materials, lectures, assignments, and resources provided.
  8. Actively participate in the course by attending lectures, engaging in discussions, and completing assignments.

In addition to the Buddhist Studies courses, they have also initiated registration for UGC SWAYAM Courses on Indian Knowledge System (IKS). These courses aim to familiarize students with the profound contributions made by ancient Indians in the realms of science, philosophy, and related concepts.
