UP Schools Closed on 22 January: Uttar Pradesh Cheif Minister Yogi Adityanath has declared a holiday for Monday, 22 January 2024 because of the ‘Pran Pratistha’ ceremony of Shri Ram Janambhoomi temple in Ayodhya.

The official announcement was made on Tuesday, 9 January 2024 by CM Yogi Adityanath stating that no educational institutes will operate on January 22, 2024.

CM Adityanath also directed all the government offices to have decorations and fireworks sent off on January 22, 2024, to honour the occasion. And also directed to implement the “Kumbh Model” of cleanliness in Ayodhya Uttar Pradesh.

He announced that the cleanliness ceremony in Ayodhya will commence on January 14, 2024, in order to maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the city during the Ram Mandir’s inauguration ceremony.

Meanwhile, the transportation facilities in the state have been booked by the government for January 22, 2024, to provide a hassle-free ride for the devotees and a directive has also been issued to the transport department.

The directive states that “it is strictly ordered to all the taxi and tourist bus drivers to do safe driving and be adhere to traffic rules” In addition to this, a warning has also been issued to all the drivers against charging passengers more than the specified fare under any circumstances.

In view of this, all schools and educational institutions will remain shut on 22 January 2024 due to Shri Ram Mandir’s ‘Pran Pratistha’ (inauguration) ceremony.

Declaring this as a national ceremony, the UP government also directed the ‘liquor shops’ of the state to remain closed on the day.
