Uttar Pradesh: School Timings Changed in various districts of UP due to Cold Weather and Dense Fog

Uttar Pradesh Schools Winter Vacations 2024: On December 27, 2023, Archana Verma the district magistrate of Uttar Pradesh has announced holidays in schools on Thursday and Friday in some cities due to a thick layer of fog.

Along with that, the government of Uttar Pradesh has also made changes in the schedule of schools in various cities of UP due to the extreme cold weather.

Due to the cold wave that has affected north India, the government of Uttar Pradesh has declared 15 days of winter vacations for schools starting from 31 December 2023 to 14 January 2024.

Change In Timings Of Uttar Pradesh Schools

The government of Uttar Pradesh rescheduled the school timings in some districts of Uttar Pradesh. 

In Ghaziabad, the school timings for classes 1 to 8 are changed, classes will now be conducted from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, similarly in Mathura, the timings of classes are also changed to 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

The official has stated that the schools in the Jalaun district of Uttar Pradesh will remain closed till 31 December due to dense fog.

As per reports, due to heavy fog in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday, the visibility dropped to less than 20 meters in some areas. 

Due to dense fog in various areas of Uttar Pradesh, 8 people (approx) died and more than 30 were injured in road accidents due to heavy fog and low visibility.

Previously, winter vacations in Delhi, Rajasthan, and Haryana schools were declared by their governments due to cold weather.
