A state-wide bandh has been announced in Karnataka as a protest against the release of 5000 cusecs of Cauvery river water to Tamil Nadu.

Their demand is that the state government stop releasing water to Tamil Nadu. A protest march has been scheduled to be conducted at 11 AM on Tuesday 26 September 2023.
It will start at Town Hall and conclude at Mysore Bank Circle. The organizations have also made an appeal to schools, colleges, shopkeepers, business owners, and transportation providers, requesting them to support and join their call for a statewide shutdown.

The Bengaluru-Bandh has been declared by the pro-Kannada organisations protesting against the release of Cauvery River water to Tamil Nadu from dams in the state. Organisations have pealed to schools, colleges, and other private entities to support the bandh and statewide shutdown.
Students have however been advised to wait for an official notification regarding the holiday. Parents are suggested to remain in touch with their children’s respective schools and teachers for any updates regarding the closure of schools.
