XAT 2023: Exam Considered Moderately Difficult; Check Section-Wise Exam Analysis and Expected Cut-Off

XAT 2023 Exam Analysis: The Xavier School of Management (XLRI), Jamshedpur, has successfully completed the XAT exam 2023 on, January 8 (Sunday). The computer-based XAT exams were conducted in 78 cities across the nation.

According to the candidates who appeared in XAT 2023 exam on January 8, 2023, XAT exam was moderately difficult. In the second week of January 2023, the XAT 2023 answer key and response sheet will be made available.

According to Dr. Vishwa Ballabh, convener of XAT and XLRI Jamshedpur admission chair, around 9800 individuals applied for the Xavier Aptitude Test 2023. 

Out of total registered candidates, only 85000 candidates appeared for the exam. There were 100 multiple-choice questions from 4 sections and 1 essay question for a total of 101 questions in the exam.

XAT 2023 Exam Analysis

According to the XAT exam analysis provided by candidates, the exam’s level of difficulty was comparable to previous year’s. The questions on the question paper ranged in difficulty from moderate to extremely difficult.

According to the XAT exam pattern, there was no section time restriction and a negative marking system that deducted 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer.

XAT 2023 Section-Wise Analysis

There were various numbers of questions in each section.

There were a total of 26 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) in the Verbal and Logical Ability part, with the majority of the questions coming from VA (16 MCQs) and Reading Comprehension (14 MCQs).

A total number of 21 MCQs were in the Decision Making section and 28 questions were in Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation (QADI).

XAT 2023 Result and Cut-Off

The XAT result will not be normalised because the exam was conducted in a single shift. Many universities that accept XAT scores will make the cutoff for admission public after the release of the XAT 2023 result.

The cutoff for XLRI Jamshedpur is expected to be between 95 and 99 percentile.

However, in order to advance to subsequent rounds of the admissions process, such as Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview, applicants must also meet the sectional cutoff (PI). The XAT result is anticipated to be released in the last week of January 2023.
