The AIRSA has addressed, in a letter, to the Director of CSIR what problems are been faced by all the candidates due to this termination nationwide.
Why CSIR Fellowship of 300 PhD Scholars Terminated?
As per the AIRSA, the PhD students have been terminated from the CSIR fellowship as they caused a delay in submitting the annual research report to the HRDG.
“We have received information that approx 200-300 PhD scholars holding a CSIR fellowship and working in various research institutes have been terminated from their fellowship abruptly”, mentioned in the official tweet of AIRSA.
AIRSA added, “The primary reason behind this termination is that the students failed to submit the annual progress reports to the CSIR HRDG timely”.
The authority also stated that many students are facing a negative impact on their academic and personal lives due to the cancellation of their fellowship.
As it is important to follow the deadlines, it is also crucial to respect the scholars. The termination has left the Ph.D. scholars in an unstable situation causing financial stress and doubt on their education goals, they said.
At last, the AIRSA mentioned, “We humbly request your attention and support to address the issues of termination faced by the PhD scholars” and requested them to delay the fellowship distribution to various funding agencies.
