NEET UG 2024 Dress Code & Barred Items: NTA will be organising the NEET UG 2024 examination on 5th May. Candidates appearing for the exam should ensure that they adhere to the dress code guidelines set for the examination and make sure not to carry any of the prohibited items in the exam hall as per NTA NEET UG exam instructions.

The NTA has set a dress code for the aspirants appearing for the NEET UG 2024 examination to ensure the sanctity and fairness of conducting the examination. Whereas, those who do not follow the dress code may get debarred from the examination.

NEET UG 2024 Dress Code & List of Barred Items

Dress Code

• Boys- Make sure to wear simple regular pants and shirts on your NEET UG 2024 exam day. It is to be noted that full-sleeved, clothes with zips, pockets, or big buttons will not be permitted. Avoid wearing kurta pajamas and layering multiple clothes on the exam day and go for simple footwear, as boots and shoes are not allowed in the exam hall. 
• Girls- It is recommended to keep your outfit as simple as possible and avoid wearing clothes with heavy embroidery, frills, and multiple layering. Try to wear a half-sleeved kurti or shirt, long fancy sleeves of any kind are not allowed in the exam hall.
• Avoid wearing jewelry either metallic or non-metallic. It is advised you wear a slipper or open sandals rather than fancy footwear. Wearing boots, heels, stilettos, or shoes to the exam hall is not allowed. Also, make sure you have no Heena, tattoo, or ink mark on your palms/arms. 
• In case, candidates come in cultural/ customary dress at the Examination Centre, they should report at 12.30 pm so that there is enough time for proper frisking without any inconvenience to the candidate while maintaining the sanctity of the examination.

Barred Items in Exam Hall

Things that are not allowed in the NEET UG 2024 exam hall are:-

• Any item like textual material (printed or written), bits of paper, geometry/pencil box, plastic pouch, calculator, pen, scale, writing pad, pen drives, eraser, log table, electronic pen/scanner, etc.
• Any communication device like mobile phone, bluetooth, earphones, microphone, pager, health band, etc.
• Other items like wallets, goggles, handbags, belts, caps, watches/wristwatches, bracelets, cameras, ornaments, and metallic items are not allowed in the exam hall.
• Any food items opened or packed, water bottles, etc are not allowed in the examination hall.
