NEET UG 2024 Eligibility Criteria: After a long wait, the National Testing Agency has finally released the NEET UG 2024 application form. Candidates can fill the NEET UG 2024 registration form till 9 March at the official website of NEET UG.

The NTA has set some eligibility parameters that candidates should know before applying for the NEET UG examination if any candidate fails to meet the eligibility criteria then their application form might get rejected.

NEET UG 2024 Eligibility Criteria

Below are the parameters that candidates need to check before applying for NEET UG 2024:

NEET UG 2024 Age Limit

• The candidates applying for the NEET UG 2024 examination must have completed 17 years of age at the time of taking admission.
• The lower age limit for candidates appearing in NEET UG is born on or before 31.12.2007
• It is to be noted that there is no maximum age limit to apply for the NEET UG examination.

NEET UG 2024 Educational Qualification

Candidates applying for the NEET UG 2024 examination must have completed their class 12 with physics, chemistry, and biology along with English as their main subjects.

The minimum passing percentage required to become eligible for the NEET UG 2024 examination is 50% for the general category, 40% for PwD candidates, and 40% for OBC(NCL)/SC/ST categories.

NEET UG 2024 Attempt Limit

The authorities have eliminated the limitation on the number of NEET attempts limits in 2018. As a result, there is no maximum attempt limit for the NEET UG 2024. 

So, the candidates who meet the eligibility requirements may take the NEET UG exam as many times as they choose.

NEET UG 2024 Eligibility Criteria For NRI/OCI/Foreign Candidates

Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs), and Foreign Nationals are eligible for admission to medical/dental colleges, according to the laws and regulations of the various state governments, institutions, and the government of India.

Similarly, PIO cardholders and foreign nationals are not eligible for admission against any seat reserved solely for Indian citizens.

As a result, OCI/PIO will be classified as foreigners and will be eligible for NRI seats only not Indian national seats, including paid seats in recognized universities.

The NEET UG 2024 online registration started from 9 February and the last date for registration is 9 March, 2024. The NEET UG 2024 examination will be conducted on 5 May 2024 in about 554 exam centres in India.
