19-Year-Old NEET Aspirant Committed Suicide, 2nd Case In A Week

NEET Aspirant Dies By Suicide In Kota: A sad incident occurred in Kota, Rajasthan on 27 March 2024, when a 19-year-old student hung to death in the private rented room of a PG accommodation in the Mahavir Nagar Pratham area.

The deceased was a girl from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, living in Kota, Rajasthan since last year to prepare for the NEET UG examination. This is the 2nd incident among NEET aspirants within a week.

The officer-in-charge for the case Mr. Kamlesh Kumar Sharma from Jawahar Nagar police station stated that the body of the girl was found hanging from the ceiling fan of her private rented room, whereas no suicide note was found in the room.

Officials also stated that the parents of the victim were informed about the mishappening, whereas, the postmortem examination of the deceased girl will be done once her parents arrive.

The police do not state any reason behind the girl’s suicide, however, the body of the deceased has been transferred to the mortuary and further investigation is still ongoing.

Previously, a 20-year-old boy from Samdhan village in Uttar Pradesh’s Kannauj district also committed suicide by hanging himself in his room due to academic stress and anxiety.

Kota, Rajasthan is slowly turning into a suicide factory, as the state is witnessing the 8th suicide case among the candidates this year.
