AICTE launches SWAYAM online credit courses on Yoga, IP and basics of remote sensing – The AICTE has launched the SWAYAM online credit courses on Yoga, IP and basics of remote sensing.

The four SWAYAM Yoga online credit courses have been made by S-VYASA Bangalore.Whereas the Intellectual Property (IP) is developed by the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell under the leadership of Dr Abhay Jere.

The online course on “Basics of Remote Sensing, GIS & GNSS Technology & their Applications” is developed by IIRS, Dehradun. It is made in the presence of Dr RP Singh, Director, ISRO, Dehradun.

During the launch event, AICTE’s chairman said “AICTE offers comprehensive fundamental & advanced training. Also, it provides post-certificate online courses on how to pursue yoga as a profession or business venture. We are also trying to make a good career opportunity out of Yoga.

The purpose of life is to govern both internal & external nature. If you do it through work, worship, philosophy or physic control. We have embraced the definition of yoga based on this, containing 2 parts – Yoga Jnana & Bhakti.

Apart from Yoga, AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) is also providing online courses for Intellectual Property & Fundamentals of Remote Sensing.

The Vice Chairman, AICTE appreciated the introduction of Yoga & other SWAYAM online credit courses. It motivated the course coordinators to come forward for development for similar other courses for SWAYAM.

He said, “the online course will introduce participants to the fundamentals of remote sensing, thermal remote sensing, visual image interpretation & remote sensing technologies. Other technologies covered in the course include Image rectification, Image classification, Image enhancement & Accuracy Assessment. 

Following the theoretical notions leads to practical demonstration using open-source software, he added.

Meanwhile, the SWAYAM 2022 Registration Process has been extended till 22nd January, 2023. However, the semester examination will be held on 25th & 26th February 2023.

While introducing these online credit courses also emphasizes the need for translation of these courses into 12 different Regional Languages. After that, it can reach to all for the best use through SWAYAM.

It will also result in the increase of Gross Enrollment Ratio up to 50% in line with NEP 2020.
