NLU Delhi conducts the admission process for various Ph.D. law programs via a two-stage selection process i.e. written test and research proposal.
Selected candidates are required to submit their research proposal to the university before the deadline as these proposals have a weightage of 30% through the AILET 2024 exam and 50% without the AILET exam 2024 in the final selection.
NLU Delhi 2024 Seat Matrix & Admission Process For Ph.D. Programs
As per NLU Delhi’s official PDF, there is a total of 27 seats i.e. UGC-JRF: 5 seats, AILET merit -16 seats, fellowship through AILET merit -4 seats, and foreign nationals-2 Seats are available for admissions in Ph.D. in law courses.
Whereas, the total seats available for admissions in Ph.D. in Social Sciences are 4 i.e. 1 seat each for UGC JRF, AILET, foreign nationals, and fellowships programs.
It is to be noted that the university will follow the reservation policy as per UGC regulations for admission to Ph.D. Programme for the Academic Year 2024-25.
The UGC JRF and foreign nationals are exempted from the entrance test i.e. the AILET 2024 examination.
To get admission into the Ph.D. programs in NLU Delhi and other law institutes, candidates are required to secure a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwD/OBC candidates) in the exam to qualify for the second stage of the selection process.
The last date to submit the AILET 2024 research proposal is 22 January 2024, no proposal is submitted by the university after the deadline.
