JEE Main 2023: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has reduced the eligibility requirements for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main 2023) by a factor of 75 percent. JEE Main Eligibility 2023 (Revised) has been revised.

The National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) will only accept applications from students who have earned 75% of the possible points or who rank in the top 20% of their class in the 12th grade, according to an official notification that was issued on January 10th, 2023.

These students will also be eligible to take the JEE Advanced 2023 exam. SC and ST applicants must receive 65% of the possible points.

Many students had called for a reduction of the 75% qualifying requirement, which led to the outcome.

The official notice from the NTA stated, “NTA is in receipt of numerous representations from the stakeholders relating to modifying the requirement of 75% marks in the Class 12 test.

Steps to Check NTA Public Notice

Check the NTA announcement regarding Reviewing the Eligibility Conditions for Admission to NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs Participating Through Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) by following the instructions mentioned below.

  • Go to the official website at jeemain.nta.nic.in
  • You will enter the homepage of the website.
  • Visit the “News & Event” section.
  • Click on the “Reviewing the Eligibility Conditions for Admission to NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs participating through Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB).” link.
  • The NTA Public Notice will appear on the screen.
  • Check the notice and download it for further use.

Previously, applicants who met the requirements for admission to NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs as well as for admissions based on JEE Main 2023 rank, had to have obtained at least 75% of the possible points in the Class 12 exam administered by the relevant boards.

The JEE 2023 first try is slated to begin on January 24 but the Bombay High Court has refused to postpone it. The high court was deliberating a plea asking for the postponement of JEE Main 2023 and a relaxation of the 75% eligibility requirements.

Tomorrow, January 12, is the last day to register for JEE Main 2023. Between January 24 to January 31, NTA will administer the first session of JEE Main 2023.
