NEET Aspirant Died By Suicide In Kota, Rajasthan: Is Kota turning into a suicide hotspot? Another NEET aspirant was found dead in a rented flat yesterday. This is the 28th suicide case in KOTA this year 2023.

A 20-year-old medical aspirant from West Bengal, Faureed Hussain, was found deceased in his rented flat in Kota, Rajasthan. Hussain, who was preparing for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), was discovered hanging in his room in the Wakf Nagar city on the evening of 27 November 2023.

Doctors announced him deceased when he arrived at the hospital. The reason behind his suicide is still unknown, and police are still looking into the incidents leading up to his death.

As per India Today, the deceased, it is said, was originally from West Bengal and had come to Rajasthan in order to get ready for the medical entrance examination.

In a statement, the deceased’s friends said they saw him around 4 PM on Monday, and then he locked himself in his room. In the evening around 7 PM, his friends informed the landlord to intervene as he was not taking the calls of his friends. The student’s body was found after police arrived.

In a statement, the police said that they were investigating the cause of the suicide and that his family members had been informed.

A post-mortem will be undertaken, after which the student’s body will be returned to his family, they said.

Coaching hub Kota is witnessing its 28th suicide case among students this year, so the authorities made it necessary to install anti-hanging devices in the ceiling fans at all coaching centres and issue a directive for coaching institutes to not conduct any tests for a period of 2 months in order to support student’s mental health.
