NMC Issued Notice Regarding Fake Medical Recognition Letters

NMC Issues Notice Against Medical Colleges: The National Medical Commission has issued a notice against some medical colleges on its official website at nmc.org.in, today, 13 November 2023.

The notice of NMC clearly warned the medical colleges to not fall for any fake letters of recognition for postgraduate courses, signed by the Post Graduate Medical Education Board (PGMEB) president.

“It has come to the notice of Post Graduate Education Medical Board, National Medical Commission that fake/forged letter(s) of recognition under the forged signature of Dr. Vijay Oza, the president of PGMEB have been claimed to be received by some medical colleges,” reads the first section of the NMC’s official notice.

Then the official notice of NMC, states that “it is hereby informed that all the letters of recognition/ renewal of recognition are sent through a dedicated email i.e. [email protected], or dispatched through the speed post only.

“All the stakeholders including Medical Colleges are hereby advised not to fall into the trap of any such fake letter(s) of recognition/renewal of recognition if the same is not received through dedicated email from PGMEB, NMC as well as by Post from NMC” the commission added.

The NMC issued a notice earlier in September about fake letters of permission to medical schools in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh. Meenakshi Medical College in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu; Santhiram Medical College in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh; GR Medical College Hospital and Research Centre in Karnataka; and GSL Medical College in Rajahmundr were amongst the medical colleges to receive the fraudulent LOPs.
