PM SHRI Scheme: The Pradhan Mantri Schools for Rising India (PM SHRI schools) Yojana has received over 55,000 school registrations, according to the Ministry of Education (MoE).

In order to execute the New Education Policy’s (NEP) objectives, the PM SHRI school was established and upgraded to 14,500 schools.

These schools will include digital technology and teaching that is more experiential, comprehensive, integrated, and learner-centered, according to the ministry.

All 29 states and union territories, as well as the Kendriya Vidyalaya (KVS), Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (NVS), and Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya are mentioned in the report. The programme has so far attracted 55,564 schools to sign up.

Who will benefit from the PM SHRI Scheme

More than 20 lakh students will benefit from the PM SHRI Scheme. 14,500 schools will be constructed or improved overall.

The government has allocated a budget of Rs 27,360 crore for this specific reason, which would be used to modernize PM SHRI schools over the period of five years (from 2022 to 27).

A maximum of two schools, one primary and one secondary or senior secondary school will be chosen by the government for each block.

The decision will be made on the basis of 60 “point-based” factors, including the presence of a playground, a boundary wall, and other amenities.

This project aims to create an atmosphere where every student feels welcomed and cared for and where a safe and dynamic learning environment exists in more than 14500 PM SHRI Schools operated by the Central Government, State/State/UT Government, and local bodies, including KVS and NVS.

A comprehensive range of educational opportunities will be provided here, and all pupils will have access to first-rate physical facilities and learning-friendly resources. 

It will support students in a way that helps them develop into involved, effective, and contributing members of society as we work to create a just, welcoming, and free democracy.
