UP Board Exam 2024: UPMSP To Use Anti-Cheating Measures To Cope-up With ‘Cheating Mafias’

UP Board Exam 2024 Latest Updates: With over 55 Lakh registrations, the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) is all set to conduct the 2024 session UP board exam from 22 February 2024. Whereas, for the first time, the board is going to use anti-cheating measures for conducting the board examination.

Whereas to conduct the UP board 2024 examination successfully, the UPMSP is going to use some of the anti-cheating methods to deal with the state’s so-called “copying mafia” which includes secret QR codes, digitized logos, and a unique color coding scheme on answer sheets.

Aside from making the best use of technology to make answer papers “copying proof,” the UPMSP has also decided to use digital ID cards with unique QR codes and serial numbers for the invigilators to prevent cheating in the UP board examination 2024.

UP CM Official Statement on Board Exam Cheating

Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath in 2023 called the “copying mafia” the “biggest enemy” of society. He also stated that before 2017, the UP Board was famous for ‘nakal’ (use of unfair ways), therefore our government made it copyright-free.

He also added that the copying mafia is society’s worst enemy, and it should be boycotted since it destroys educational institutions ‘apavitra’ (impure) by practicing copying.

Mahendra Dev, director of secondary education in Uttar Pradesh, also stated that “many improvements have been made in 2024 to make the entire UP board exam a ‘copying-free event’.

This time, the board has added specific color coding to the answer sheets, which have been printed in four different hues that differ from those used last year. This time, the QR code on the answer sheets and other codings have been implemented, which will undoubtedly ensure fair assessments, he added.

The officials stated that the ID cards that will be provided to the invigilators also indicate the invigilator’s teaching subject. According to officials, around 2.75 lakh test room invigilators will be issued these identity cards this year.

According to sources, three master trainers have been assigned to each of the state’s 75 districts to provide detailed information about the UP board examination 2024 to the district authorities and train them about important topics such as preventing cheating, maintaining order, ensuring the security of question papers, and maintaining answer sheets.

To provide counselling to students in classes 10 and 12 and assist them in coping with the mental strain and stress of board examinations, the UPMSP has also activated 2 helpline numbers in each district of the state.
