Candidates who want to appear for the JEE Advanced 2024 examination are required to check the eligibility criteria for the examination to see whether they are eligible for the exam or not.

As per research, there is no big change in the eligibility criteria for the JEE Advanced exam 2024, but the JEE Advanced 2024 registration fee is increased for all categories by the authority.

JEE Advanced Eligibility Criteria 2024
As per the JEE Advanced information bulletin 2024, all the candidates are required to fulfil every one of the following five criteria to appear for JEE (Advanced) 2024.
- Nationality: All the Indian candidates are eligible to apply for the JEE Advanced examination 2024, whereas the foreign candidates are also eligible under 10% of SNQ.
- Age Limit: Candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 1999, to become eligible for the JEE Advanced 2024 exam.
Five years of age relaxation is given to SC, ST, and PwD candidates, i.e. these candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 1994.
- Performance In JEE Main 2024 Exam: The top 2,50,000 candidates (including all categories) are eligible for the JEE Advanced 2024 examination.
The percentages for various categories of candidates to be shortlisted include 10% for GEN-EWS, 27% for OBC-NCL, 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST, and the remaining 40.5% is OPEN for all. Within each of these five categories, 5% horizontal reservation is available for PwD candidates.
- Number Of Attempts: A candidate can attempt JEE (Advanced) for a maximum of two times in two consecutive years.
- Academic Qualification: A candidate should have appeared for the Class XII examination for the first time in either 2023 or 2024 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as the main subjects.
Candidates who had appeared in the Class XII examination for the first time in 2022 or earlier, are not eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2024.
Candidates who have successfully considered the JEE Advanced eligibility criteria 2024 are eligible to register themselves for the exam from 21 April 2024.
