What is Agnipath Scheme?

Agnipath is a new HR management scheme of the Indian armed forces. The candidates selected under Agnipath scheme will be required to accept all terms & conditions of the Agnipath scheme mentioned in the detailed advertisement and also at the time of joining the service.

The candidates selected under this scheme will be called “Agniveers”. After selection, candidates will be part of all three wings of the Indian Armed forces i.e Army, Navy and Air Force. 

Who are Agniveers?

The candidates selected through the Agnipath recruitment scheme in the Indian Armed Forces (Army, Navy & Air Force) will be called as “Agniveers”. After completing 4 years of service in the defence forces, candidates will have a chance to enroll in the regular cadre of the respective armed forces for which they are serving as Agniveer.

Why Agnipath Scheme Started 

The central government with a clear objective to strengthen our defence forces have introduced the Agnipath Scheme 2023.

This Agnipath recruitment 2023 scheme will help the young aspirants to join the defense forces and serve the nation with pride, at the same time offering a great career with the armed forces. In the Agnipath Bharti scheme, the armed forces (Indian Army, Indian Navy & Air Force) will train the selected candidates and upon successful completion of the training, they will be the part of Indian armed forces.

The government also has a long-term vision to reduce the average age of “Jawans” serving in the armed forces. With the help of this scheme, young aspirants will be employed in the defence forces for a period of 4 years and after serving that period most of the “Jawans” will be discharged from the services.

The “Agniveers” after the completion of their service with the defence forces will be provided opportunities to continue their service (depending on the vacancies and performance in the service tenure) with the armed forces they are enrolled with and also they will be getting reservation/preference in the recruitment process of para-military forces of central government, police forces of state governments, and also in some private sector jobs.

Agnipath Scheme Key Features

  • The recruitment & selection process is PAN India merit basis.
  • Candidates will have the opportunity to apply for the permanent cadre after successful completion of the training.

What after 4 years of service

After successful completion of four years of service, 25% of the “Agniveers ” may get a chance to continue with the armed forces, this is applicable if there is an opening of the vacancies at that time. 

Apart from this, the candidates who will be discharged from the services will get priority in the recruitment process in any other government department, PSU or even private sector.

The Indian Army will also play a key role, in order to make sure that the “Agniveers” get good career opportunities after completion of their 4 years of service.

The GOI has given age relaxation to the Agniveers in para-military forces also 10% of the reservation will given to the Agniveers in CAPF and Assam Rifiles recruitment.

Agnipath Scheme 2023 – Latest Updates

Indian Air Force received 7.5 Lakh Applications for Agnipath recruitment 2022, which is highest in any recruitment cycle.

Indian Army & Indian Navy also started registration process for recruitment under Agnipath scheme from 1st July.

Indian Air Force has started application for Agnipath scheme (Agniveer Vayu Intake 01/2022) from 24 June. Last day for registration is 5th July, 2022.

Defence Ministry also announced that 10% quota for agniveers in the Coast Guard, defence civilian posts and 16 defence PSUs, which include major ones like Hindustan Aeronautics, Bharat Electronics, as well as four shipyards and 41 ordnance factories.

Many state government also announced that the priority will be given to Agniveers in the recruitment of state police forces.

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has also decided to reserve 10% vacancies for recruitment in CAPFs and Assam Rifles for Agniveers after completing 4 years of term.

The government has also decided a one-time relaxation of upper age limit upto 23 years has been granted for the Agniveer 2022 batch only.

The first batch of agniveers will commence their training from December this year ( 2022) at the designated centres as told by Army Chief General Manoj Pande.

Agnipath Yojana – Eligibility Criteria 

Candidates interested in joining the Indian armed forces through Agnipath Yojana Entry Scheme 2022, must meet the eligibility criteria laid down by the government of India. The basic eligibility requirements are –

  • Candidates appearing for this recruitment scheme must be of age between 17.5 to 21 years.
  • Candidates must be a citizen of India.
  • Aspirants should have passed 10th or 10+2 from a recognised board of school education.
  • Candidates must be physically fit and meet all the physical requirements as laid down in the recruitment scheme.

The other mandatory eligibility requirements will be mentioned in the official recruitment notification that will be released by the Armed forces at the time of recruitment process. 

Salary & Remuneration

  • The selected “Agniveers” will be entitled to receive a good salary and various other benefits & allowances. 
  • 1 year package approx 4.76 lacs, which will be upgraded up to 6.92 lacs in the 4th year of service.
  • The selected candidates will get allowances based on risk & hardship, ration, dress, travel etc.
  • For Seva Nidhi, 30% of the monthly emoluments to be contributed by the individuals and an equal amount will be matched & contributed by the government. The corpus of approx 11.71 after 4 years will be exempted from Income tax.
  • The selected “Agniveers” will be entitled to receive a good salary and various other benefits & allowances. 

Indian Army Agniveer Recruitment 2023

Indian Army has started the recruitment process for Agniveers from 1st July, 2022. Interested candidates can visit the official website of the Indian Army at -joinindianarmy.nic.in for complete details about Bharti dates, notifications and eligibility criteria.

The Recruitment rally for Agniveers in the Indian Army has been notified in the Indian Army official site. The recruitment rally will be conducted on PAN India basis. The dates of the recruitment rally is available district (city) wise across various states in the Indian Army official website.

Agnipath Yojana Entry Scheme – Indian Air Force (IAF) Agniveer Recruitment

Indian Airforce Agniveer recruitment notification has been released by the authority on 29th October. Interested and eligible candidates can apply for Airforce Agneepath Vayu (01/2023) through online mode.

The application process has been started from 7 November for approx. 3500 Agniveers vacancies in the Indian Air Force. The last date to fill the application form is 23 November. Candidates can apply from the official website of India Air Force at – agneepathvayu.cdac.in

Candidates have to upload following documents while filling the Indian Air Force Agniveer application form:

  • Class 10th /matriculation passing certificate.
  • (Intermediate/10+2 or equivalent mark sheet)
    OR
  • 3 Yrs Engineering Diploma Final Year Mark sheet (if applying on the basis of 3 Yrs Engineering Diploma from a Govt. recognised polytechnic in the prescribed stream) and Matriculation mark sheet (if English is not a subject in Diploma Course).

  • 2 Yrs Vocational course mark sheet and marks sheets of non-vocational course with subjects English, Physics and Mathematics.
  • Passport size recent colour photograph (taken not before April 2022) of size 10 KB to 50 KB (front portrait in light background without head gear except for Sikhs). The photograph is to be taken with candidate holding a black slate in front of his chest with his name and date of photograph taken, clearly written on it with white chalk in capital letters.
  • Candidate’s left hand thumb impression image (Size 10 KB to 50 KB).
  • Candidate’s signature image (Size 10 KB to 50 KB).
  • Candidate’s parent’s (Father/Mother)/Guardian’s signature image (if the candidate is below 18 years on the date of filling the online application).

Candidates applying for the Agniveer recruitment must have to pay the application fee of Rs 250 through net banking/debit card/credit card etc.

Indian Air Force (IAF) has released a detailed briefing regarding the Agnipath scheme for enrolment in Indian Air Force. The Agniveers once enrolled with the Air Force will be governed under the Air Force Act 1950 for a period of 4 years. After serving 4 years, the Agniveers will be discharged from their services and will go back to society. Based on the organisational requirements up to 25% of the Agniveers will have the opportunity to apply in the regular cadre.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates applying for Indian Air Force Agniveer recruitment should be in the range of 17.5 to 21 years.
  • The candidates applying for the post should be between 27/06/2002 to 27/12/2005.
  • The candidates have to meet the physical standards set by the Air Force Recruitment board.
  • Agniveers will have to meet the medical eligibility conditions laid down for enrolment in IAF.

The candidates enrolled under this scheme will be paid an Agniveer package of 30000 per month with a fixed yearly increment.

After joining the scheme the Agniveers will be entitled to receive monthly remuneration, Agniveer Corpus fund and one-time Seva Nidhi package. The details of package are mentioned below:

After 4 years of service Agniveers will be entitled to receive 11.71 Lakh which will be exempted from the income tax.

Leave

After joining the services, Agniveers will be granted 30 days of annual leave and sick leaves will be applicable as per the medical advice. In addition to this various other allowances, and benefits will be paid.

Life Insurance Cover

Agniveers will be provided with the life insurance cover of 48 Lakh for the duration of their service as Agniveer in Indian Air Force (IAF).

Agnipath Yojana – Indian Navy 2023 Agniveer Recruitment

The Indian Navy Agniveer recruitment 2023 notification has been released on 24th November, 2022. Interested candidates can apply online from 8th December, 2022.

A total of 1400 vacancies will be filled by the Indian Navy for the Agniveer recruitment 2023. The candidates applying for this post must meet all the eligibility requirements as laid down by the Indian Navy.

The candidate applying for the Indian Navy Agniveer post should be minimum of 17.5 years and not more than 23 years of age. The candidates applying for the post must be born between 1 May 2002 – 31 Oct 2005.

In order to fill the application form, candidates can visit the official website of Indian Navy at – joinindiannavy.gov.in.  The application will be filled for both Agniveer SSR and Agniveer MR in the Indian Navy.
