Is there any error in the JEE Main 2024 percentile calculation?

According to some sources, based on the relative performance of every student who took the exam, NTA has released the percentile score. For every session, the marks obtained are converted into a scale with a range of 100 to 0.

JEE MAIN 2024 – All the “Marks to Percentile” predictions have considerable differences. Any error again in calculations #NTA?” another student asked.

“What the hell is this percentile? For a difference of 3 marks, there are 500 students in between. Looks like normalization has got a huge impact this time. Even 260 is not giving 99.9. This was damn unexpected,” a student who appeared in session 1 tweeted.

“Recheck the percentile for jee mains 27t shift 1, shift 2, and 29th shift 1. This is unfair for the hardworking students who got above 200 still not getting 99%ile,” an aspirant responded on the NTA post on the display of the scorecard.

“Two of my friends scored 140 marks. 27 shift 1: 90%, 1 Feb shift 1: 98%. Why so much difference?” another student asked.

  1. I scored 117 marks from the answer key of 29 shift 1 but I have got percentile only 70 what the hell is this?? Can anybody explain me that how it’s possible??

  2. Hi team
I was pretty sure that I will get somewhere between 80-90 marks. I wrote on 27th Jan shift 1 . I was expecting to get atleast 90 percentile according to the percentile vs marks. I believe there has been some error in the percentile calculation. I saw certain tweets on X from students saying the same thing happened to them too. Is there any way to seek justice for such things.

  3. yes there is a big blunder done by nta for shifts of 27 and 29 they have filled more than majority of students in these shifts which is totally uneven distribution of students and obviously when there is uneven distribution then how can you expect air results? I appeal to each and everyone whoever is reading this, please help us out…
