Karnataka School Student Delivered Baby: A shocking incident happened recently in Karnataka, class 9 student of a government residential school gave birth to a baby boy. As per her statement, she was unaware of the pregnancy.

As per the police, the girl was 14 years old and was staying in a hostel of a government residential school in the Tumakuru district of Karnataka. 

The matter came into the limelight when she returned to her home in Bagepalli Taluk of Chikkaballapura district and complained to her parents about a stomach ache. 

She was then taken to a nearby hospital, after scanning the doctors found out that she was eight months pregnant with the baby. 

Doctors took some relevant tests and admitted her immediately, afterwards, the girls delivery was done on 9 January 2024. 

The minor girl was underweight as per the police statements although both the girl and the baby are stable as of now. 

After the case was registered by her parents, the police started the investigation in the school and the hostel. 

The hospital authority informed the police and a case under section 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code and other relevant sections of the Protection of Children against Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act was filed. 

Police Statement on Karnataka School Class 9 Student Pregnancy Case

The girl was being counselled by the Child Welfare Committee where she gave the statement that “a minor boy from her school impregnated her, he was a senior.” After investigating and questioning the minor boy about the incident he denied it, said police.

However, the girl is not consistent with her statement and mentioned another boy’s name who was also her senior in the school, the investigation is in progress to question everyone about the incident. 

The police added, “We have registered a case in connection with the incident, but no arrests have been made till now, also both the girl and her parents are not cooperating with us, they are being counseled”.
