20-Year-Old Jharkhand Engineering Student Committed Suicide, Letter Recorved By Police 

Jharkhand Engineering Student Suicide Case Updates: A 20-year-old engineering student was found hanging in the hostel room in Ranchi, Jharkhand on 30 January 2024. 

According to the police investigation, the student did not attend his morning classes on Tuesday i.e. 30 January 2024 and he also skipped the evening assembly on Monday 29 January 2024. 

When everyone noticed the student was missing, one of his classmates went to the deceased room and found the door locked from the inside. He immediately informed the college authorities. 

The college administration broke the door’s lock and found him hanging from the ceiling fan inside his room. 

As per the English Jagran news officials, the student was identified as Piyush Raj. He belonged to the Hesla village in Ramgarh district and was currently pursuing engineering at the Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Mesra. 

Police’s Statement on the Jharkhand Engineering Student Suicide Case

The police station in charge Laxmikant of Ranchi mentioned, “A note was recovered from the student’s room. He was asking for an apology from his parents in the note before he committed suicide”. 

Laxmikant further added, “During the investigation, we also found out that boy was an introvert and never talked to anyone in college. He used to stay alone on the college’s campus”.

As per the police, the student’s body was sent to the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) for post-mortem examinations.

However, the reason for Piyush Raj’s suicide is still not clear, the police investigation is ongoing and the reason will be unveiled soon.
