Prime Minister Narendra Modi today on 20 February 2024 visited a public function conducted at the Maulana Azad Stadium, Jammu & Kashmir to inaugurate a series of development projects covering various sectors.

Major boost to the Education sector
This project is a step towards boosting and developing the education sector by adding skills in infrastructure in India.
The Permanent Campuses of IIT Bhilai, IIT Tirupati, IISER Tirupati, IIITDM Kurnool, the Academic and Residential Complex at IIT Patna and IIT Ropar, and the Two Permanent Campuses of Central Sanskrit University at Devprayag (Uttarakhand) and Agartala (Tripura) will be dedicated to the country by the Prime Minister. The IIM Jammu, IIM Bodh Gaya, and IIM Visakhapatnam permanent campuses will be opened by the prime minister. He will also open the Indian Institute of Skills (IIS), a ground-breaking Kanpur skill-training facility focused on cutting-edge technology.
The Prime Minister also inaugurated and dedicated nation-improved infrastructure such as hostels, academic blocs, administrative buildings, libraries, auditoriums, and so on in some higher education institutes across the country, including IIT Jammu, NIT Delhi, IIT Kharagpur, NIT Durgapur, IISER Behrampur, NIT Arunachal Pradesh, IIT Lucknow, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, and Central University of Kerala Kasaragod.
The Prime Minister will lay the groundwork for several projects aimed at improving infrastructure in higher education institutions across the country. These projects include the construction of the permanent campuses of Sindhu Central University and IIIT Raichur; the construction of an academic block, hostel, faculty quarter, and other facilities in IIT Bombay; the construction of a hostel and staff quarter in IIT Gandhinagar; and the construction of a girls’ hostel in BHU, among others.

The initiatives include the development of the healthcare facility, AIIMS Jammu. PM Modi will also lay the groundwork for several infrastructure projects, including a highway connecting India’s capital, Delhi, with Amritsar and Qatar.
Infrastructure initiatives include the construction of a new terminal at Jammu International Airport. According to the statement, PM Modi’s action may strengthen the local economy and health sector, providing much-needed respite to Jammu inhabitants and firmly establishing Jammu and Kashmir on the road of growth and development.
