Age Limit Criteria for CDS 2024
It is crucial for candidates to meet the age limit criteria set for the CDS 2024 exam. This criteria decides whether they are eligible to take the exam or not. Therefore, candidates must ensure that they fulfil all the required criteria before filling out the application form.
Indian Military Academy (IMA)
Only male candidates who were born between January 2nd, 2001 and January 1st, 2006 are eligible.
- Age Limit: 19 to 24 years
- Gender: Male
- Martial Status: Unmarried
Indian Naval Academy (INA)
Candidates born not earlier than 2nd January 2001 and not later than 1st January 2006 are eligible.
- Age Limit: 19 to 22 years
- Gender: Male
- Martial Status: Unmarried
Air Force Academy (AFA)
All the male aspirants who are applying for the position must be born between January 2nd, 2001 and January 1st, 2005.
However, if the candidate holds a valid and current Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA (India), the upper age limit is relaxed up to 26 years. In this case, the candidate should be born between January 2nd, 1999 and January 1st, 2005 to be eligible.
- Age Limit: 20 to 24 years
- Gender: Male
- Martial Status: Below 25 years – unmarried; Above 25 years – both married and unmarried men
Officer’s Training Academy (OTA) for Men
Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January 2000 and not later than 1st January 2006 only are eligible.
- Age Limit: 19 to 25 years
- Gender: Male
- Martial Status: Unmarried
Officer’s Training Academy (OTA) for Women (SSC Non-Technical Course)
Unmarried women, issueless widows who have not remarried and issueless divorcees (in possession of divorce documents) who have not remarried are eligible. They should have been born not earlier than 2nd January 2000 and not later than 1st January 2006.
- Age Limit: 19 to 25 years
- Gender: Female
- Martial Status: Unmarried, issueless divorced, and issueless women who have not remarried.

Additional Considerations on Marital Status
Single Status: Applicants must be unmarried and not surpass 25 years of age.
Marriage During Training: Candidates are not allowed to get married during their training period.
Married Candidates Over 25: While married individuals over 25 years old can apply, they will not receive accommodation for their spouse during training. Moreover, they are not permitted to reside outside the Academy campus with their family.
Date of Birth Verification: The Commission accepts the date of birth mentioned on the secondary school or matriculation certificate or a certificate of similar value for age verification.
