Tamil Nadu Schools Holiday December 2023 Updates: The school in the Karaikal, Yanam, and Puducherry districts of Tamil Nadu will remain closed today 4 December 2023 due to a cyclone warning named “Michaung”.

The Sun News Tamil has recently reported that the Michuang cyclone will reach the Bay of Bengal on 3 December 2023 and will intensify in the next 24 hours. 

So the government has decided to shut down the schools for 4 December 2023 for the safety purposes of the students. 

As per the reports, there is no school holiday announced for 3 December 2023, in case there is water logging in the nearby areas the students and parents must contact the school administration. 

Why Are Tamil Nadu Schools Closed?

The Indian Metrological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert over the southwest Bay of Bengal, Andra Pradesh, and north Tamil Nadu/Puducherry coasts from 1 to 5 December 2023.

The cyclone Michaung is expected to weaken into a depression over the Bay of Bengal and affect the Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh districts.

Many areas in Tamil Nadu are affected due to heavy rain fall and water logging in the streets which leads to congestion and traffic on the roads.  

As mentioned by the Times Now, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has kept 18 teams available in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, and Puducherry along with other 10 teams ready for rescue.
