Two Class 10th Girls Flee From Hooghly To Ajmer Due To Exam Stress, Rescued After 10 Days

The police stated that the girls boarded a train on 29 January 2024 to Ajmer, Rajasthan in order to prevent their class 10 board examination 2024.

The shocking incident occurred just 3 days before the West Bengal board 2024 class 10 examination where 2 girls from Rishira, Hooghly fled to Rajasthan due to fear of the upcoming board examination.

The girls left their homes for their coaching classes and never returned. Later, on 29 January 2024, one of them contacted their parents and asked for their help. Fearing for their daughter’s safety, the parents immediately file a complaint to the police in Rishira thana.

What Does The Police State?

The Chandannagar police Commission, ruled by Commissioner Amit P Javalgi, rushed into action and traced the girls’ movements using their phone numbers. The commissioner personally investigated the case, providing information to the neighboring districts and maintaining constant contact with the families.

The police inquiry revealed that the class 10 girls had taken a train to Ajmer Sharif. the Rishira police also urged the Chandannagar police to request assistance from the Rajasthan police. Later, the girls were found by Rajasthan police with timely coordination, and after eight days, they were returned to West Bengal.

Amit P Javalgi, Commissioner of Chandannagar police, told News18, “We shared information with all neighboring districts and were in regular contact with the families of the missing girls”. They further stated that the girls also carried their mobile phones from which a woman from Ajmer Sharif called one of the girls’ parents. 

Commissioner Amit P Javalgi also stated that they called the Rajasthan Police immediately after the news and sent a team to the location provided by the women who called the missing class 10 girl’s parents. The authorities eventually found the girls from class 10 and transported them to a shelter home for their safety.

The West Bengal class 10 board examination is already underway and is going to conclude on February 12, 2024.
