Lucknow University Student Committed Suicide, Incident Recorded in Cellphone 

Lucknow University Student Dies By Suicide: On 10 January 2024, a 21-year-old Lucknow University student took their life by committing suicide in the hostel and was found hanging in the room. The incident was reported around 5:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. when the deceased roommate came back to the room and found the door locked from inside. 

After knocking on the door continuously there was no response, so they reported it to the hostel staff immediately. 

The hostel staff arrived and the window panel was broken down to open the door, the deceased body was then taken for post-mortem by the Lucknow police. 

The departed student was identified as a girl named Anshika, as per Times Now news authority. She was native to Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, and was living in the Tilak Hostel in Lucknow. 

Anshika, the deceased student, was pursuing her fifth semester of a bachelor’s degree in Arts and Crafts from Lucknow University. 

While searching the room a cell phone was also found in which the suicide incident was recorded by her, the recording and cell phone were seized by the police authority. 

As per the reports and investigations, the deceased had a dispute with a person, referred to as her boyfriend, and out of spite, she took an extreme step. 

Manisha Singh, DCP Lucknow police stated “Her (deceased Anshika) body was brought and sent for a post-mortem examination. Her parents and local guardians have been informed about the incident”. 

However, the police added,  the exact reason for the suicide is not clear yet and the investigation is ongoing.
