Punjab School Holidays Extended, Primary Classes To Remain Closed Till 21 Jan 2024

Punjab Winter Vacations Updates: On 14 January 2024, the Education Minister of Punjab announced  the extension of the school winter vacations of the primary classes in the state on his official Twitter handle.

The notice released by Harjot Singh Bains, education minister reads, that all the government, government-aided, recognized, and private schools around in Punjab will have to follow the same schedule. 

Keeping in view the health and safety of the students, as the state experienced extreme cold waves in January 2024, he has decided to extend the winter vacations up to class 5.

As per Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains’s official notice, the primary classes up to 5 grade will remain closed from 15 January 2024 up to 21 January 2024. 

The classes for the middle, high, and senior secondary grades from 6 to 12 will continue from 15 January 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. 

Meanwhile, all double-shift schools will have timings from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. “No double-shift school shall open after 4:00 p.m.”, Harjot Singh Bains added. 

Similarly, the Chandigarh school winter vacations up to class 8 are also extended till 20 January 2024, the government mentioned that the schools might conduct online classes for the students. 

Also, the schools in the national capital Delhi are also reopening today i.e. 15 January 2024, the classes will continue from 9:00 a.m. due to morning fog.
