Jharkhand Schools will Remain Closed from 26 December, Here’s Why?

Jharkhand School Updates 2023: Due to a cold wave, the government of Jharkhand has announced the school holidays from 26 December 2023 to 31 December 2023. 

According to a notification issued by the School Education and Literacy Department, all categories of government and private schools in the state will remain closed from December 26 to December 31 due to the increasing effect of the cold wave in the region. This includes non-government-aided/unaided and minority schools as well.

Many areas in Jharkhand have witnessed even low temperatures. Garhwa, currently has the lowest recorded temperature in December 2023 at 6.6 degrees, whereas, Daltoganjh took the second place at 7.9 degrees. 

The minimum temperature in Ranchi, the state’s capital, was 10.4 Celsius, while the minimum temperatures in other areas recorded between 8.5 and 10.7 Celsius. 

Other regions of Jharkhand had a minimum temperature of 8.5 Celsius in Ramgarh, 8.7 Celsius in Bokaro, Chaibasa was 8.5 Celsius and the temperature in Jamshedpur was 8.7 Celsius.

The notice stated that schools may conduct classes for grades 10 to 12 as necessary, keeping in mind the upcoming board examinations.
